Jeremy Jacobs is a Materials & Processes Engineer at the NASA Johnson Space Center supporting the design, development, testing, and sustaining engineering of human launch vehicles, spacecraft, and life support systems. For over 30 years, he has contributed to NASA spaceflight programs including the Space Shuttle System, the Russian MIR, International Space Station (ISS), inflatable habitat modules, the X-38 Crew Return Vehicle, Astronaut spacesuits, and crew equipment. Jeremy presently serves as the Non-metallic Materials Senior Discipline Expert at JSC, leading the efforts to achieve “human-rating” certification of all advanced light-weight composite structures being developed on the Lockheed Artemis, SpaceX Dragon, Boeing Starliner, and Sierra Space Dream Chaser spacecrafts, the Gateway Lunar Space Station, Lunar Lander, and the Lunar Exploration Space Suit. He serves as co-chairman for the Spacecraft Subcommittee of the Composite Materials Handbook Committee (CMH-17), the global standard for composites design, development, & testing. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University and an M.S. in Mechanics & Materials Science from Texas A&M University.
