COEX

  The COEX Seoul Convention Center in Samsung-dong, Seoul, with a total area of 119,000 square meters, is the top convention center in Korea. It houses over 260 shops, as well as a large aquarium, a large bookstore, fashion city, game world, and a giant screen cinema, among other cultural, entertainment, and leisure facilities. Nearby, the Hyundai Department Store and the COEX SKM duty-free shop are places to buy branded items at higher prices. Even a kimchi museum is built underground at COEX, showcasing various types of kimchi for viewing and tasting.

  Despite being adjacent to the World Trade Center, COEX is also first-class in terms of exhibition facilities (capable of hosting twelve large exhibitions simultaneously), but it feels more like a commercial city or Disneyland. In almost all Seoul travel guides, COEX is highly recommended as a tourist destination.
