Dalian World Expo Center

Dalian World Expo Center is located in the financial and business district of Xinghai Bay, one of the forerunners in Dalian's opening up to the outside world. It enjoys a superior geographical location and beautiful environment. The exhibition hall is adjacent to the city's main thoroughfare, offering convenient transportation. It is 5 kilometers away from Dalian Railway Station, 8 kilometers away from Dalian Port, 10 kilometers away from Dalian International Airport, and 12 kilometers away from the Shen-Da Expressway entrance, known as China's No. 1 Road. With an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, the World Expo Center integrates the latest scientific and technological achievements, adopting a seawater cooling system that is both environmentally friendly and energy-saving. Each building has a large space intelligent automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system, using a dedicated drainage system. The design meets the requirements for environmental protection, energy conservation, and seismic resistance. Security measures are complete, with extremely high safety factors. It is equipped with professional voice communication, network information, public security, central air conditioning, and fire automatic monitoring systems. It also has advanced digital conference systems, simultaneous interpretation, remote video conferencing, and public broadcasting systems, all managed by intelligent systems, with comprehensive functions.

Since its operation in February 2005, the Dalian World Expo Center has hosted 243 domestic and international exhibitions, covering 2.77 million square meters of exhibition space. It has successfully held events such as the "China International Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Equipment Spring Fair", "National Higher Education Teaching Instrument Equipment Exhibition", "The 57th China International Medical Equipment Fair", "The 57th National Pharmaceutical Fair", "2007 China International Fisheries Fair", "The 60th China International Pharmaceutical Raw Materials, Intermediates, Packaging, Equipment Spring Fair", "2008 China International Dalian Maritime Exhibition", and the 2009 China Domestic Tourism Fair, among other large-scale exhibitions. The "China International Medical Equipment Exhibition" and "National Pharmaceutical Fair" are among them.

Conference hosting is another highlight of the exhibition center. By the end of 2009, it had hosted a total of 1,170大大小小的会议. In September 2007, the "From Davos to Dalian - New Leaders' Annual Conference" was held at the Dalian World Expo Center. This was the first time the World Economic Forum held a global annual meeting in China. Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Finnish President Halonen, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Mohammed, Latvian Prime Minister Kalvitis, Singaporean Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and other political leaders, business leaders, and experts and scholars from 90 countries and regions exchanged and cooperated, discussing innovative thinking, innovative business models, and the latest technologies. It successfully hosted high-level conferences such as the "WTO Informal Small Ministers' Meeting" and the "G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputy Governors' Meeting", as well as the "17th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival" and the "World Planners Congress". It also hosted large-scale events such as the "Dalian City Commemorative Performance of the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War 60 Years Ago" and the "Opening Ceremony of the China International Clothing Textile Fair".
